Meet Lauren Suthers - June 21, 2023

Some of you may have known me as Lil L, the young girl with a dream to be a singer, a model, and an actress. As I grew up I realized how different my dreams had become.

I went to NAU and earned a BS in journalism and a minor in Merchandising. I would’ve thought I could get a big-girl-writing job right out of college, but that doesn’t happen for everyone. I created my own path and decided to continue my partnership with FREE2LUV where I am an Outreach Coordinator while facilitating mental health workshops for youth. When I’m not with them I am spending my time as a Cast Member at Disneyland Resort. I'm either rowing around the "Rivers of America" on a canoe or at the good 'ole Haunted Mansion. It’s already been a full year since June 14th, 2022, my first day at Disney, and my life has changed so much.

For a moment, I felt like I had fully walked away from writing and all things creative, letting myself get distracted by social media and work.

Along the way, I had the privilege to travel and experience more. It allowed me to sit down and get creative again. I’ve taken thousands of pictures and written little things here and there. But them all being for my eyes only… What if I had a space where I could share these photos and little inner thoughts that weren’t on social media? A place where I can spend my time doing something truly for myself. I figured if I had somewhere to post my thoughts, excitements, adventures and feelings, I’d want to write a little bit more. This week, June 21st, 2023, I finally fixed my old professional website and start up something new for myself.

So here we are… sitting myself down to do some writing. It may not be up to par for the AP Stylebook I spent 4 years staring at, but this will be a fun way to “waste” time and have a space to look back on just like I did with my childhood.
